Phoebe Akinyi, the secret lover of the late Fidel Odinga, has chosen to distance herself from the ongoing family drama. In a surprising move, she has distanced herself from the lawsuit filed by the Odinga family against their Ethiopian widow, Lwam Bekele.
According to reports, Phoebe is trying to steer clear of the public eye and has allegedly asked to be left out of the family drama. This decision comes after her name shot to media attention when Ida Odinga and her daughter Winnie moved to court to seek the cancellation of administrative powers of Fidel's estate bestowed upon his widow.
It's reported that Phoebe and Fidel enjoyed a secret love affair, which bore twins. However, the twins were not recognized publicly during Fidel's burial as they were born six months after his death.
The Odinga family had accused Lwam Bekele of conniving behind their back and fraudulently acquiring the administrative letters from court, despite their efforts to acquire the same jointly. The family also accused Lwam of suspiciously setting out to disinherit Fidel's other children and use the wealth for her own gain, since there's no written will.
Published on October 21, 2019, the wealth battle has tainted the first family's image and is expected to reveal more dirty laundry unless settled outside of court.
