Detectives Uncover New Clues in Father Kyengo's Murder ¶
On October 20, 2019, detectives investigating the gruesome murder of Machakos Catholic Priest Father Michael Kyengo made a significant breakthrough in their case.
According to the DCI, the search led them to Kilifi county, where they found crucial evidence, including bank withdrawal receipts, blood-stained clothes, and newly purchased goods worth Ksh60,000.
The bank account where the money was withdrawn belonged to the slain priest, further linking the suspect to the crime.
Additionally, the detectives discovered that the murder suspect had repainted Father Kyengo's car from black to white on October 12, 2019.
The DCI has sent the recovered items to the government chemist for forensic analysis, which may provide further evidence in the case.
On October 8, 2019, Father Kyengo disappeared from Thatha Parish in Machakos, only to be found dead seven days later in a shallow grave near a seasoning river in Makima, Embu County.
Two suspects in the murder have been arrested and are cooperating with the police in their investigation.
