On October 20, 2019, KTN presenter Tony Gachoka sparked controversy after hiring a private jet to Diani ahead of the Mashujaa day Celebrations.
According to a video posted on Twitter, Gachoka flew alone in the private jet, drank a glass of champagne, and enjoyed his holiday in Diani.
His fans were divided on the issue, with some defending his right to live his life as he wanted, while others questioned his actions, especially given his recent arrest for causing a scene while allegedly intoxicated.
On October 17, 2019, Gachoka was arrested at an airstrip in Diani for causing a public nuisance. He was released on a cash bail of Sh50,000 and will appear in court on October 25, 2019.
Some of his fans took to social media to express their opinions, with one user saying, 'Hehe.. i want to celebrate my holiday like this man Tony Gachoka Wale usema Tony Gachoka ni msoto ebu angalia hii video.'
Another user commented, 'Can you all let Tony Gachoka enjoy his life, anatumia pesa zake vizuri.'
