On October 20, 2019, Ekuru Aukot's Thirdway Alliance Party launched a massive member recruitment drive to revive the Punguza Mizigo Bill, which proposes to reduce public wages by half.

The party's leader, Ekuru Aukot, has been trying to revive the bill, which was initially met with resistance from many counties. In a statement, Aukot urged Kenyans to join the Thirdway Alliance Party, saying 'Fellow Kenyans, it's the unity of change that drives change in any country. We urge as many members to register as members of Thirdway. If you're a member of another party, fill the resignation form below and attach a JPEG image of your ID.'

The Punguza Mizigo Bill was initially proposed to reduce public wages by half, but it suffered a setback after it was rejected by many counties. Aukot has now vowed to go back to the drawing board and strategize on how to make the bill a success.
