Uhuru Leads Nation in Commemorating Mashujaa Day ¶
President Uhuru Kenyatta led the nation in commemorating the 10th Mashujaa Day Celebrations at the Mama Ngina Waterfront Park in Mombasa County on October 20, 2019.
President Kenyatta arrived at the venue at around 11:30am where he inspected a guard of honor before being accorded the 21-gun salute.
Among the dignitaries that had earlier arrived include First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, Deputy President William Ruto, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, as well as governors Ali Hassan Joho (Mombasa), Mike Sonko (Nairobi), and Amason Kingi (Kilifi).
World marathon record holder Eliud Kipchoge as well as Chief Justice David Maraga and General Samson Mwathethe, Chief of the Defence Forces, were also present.
The Kenya Air Force staged a display on air to showcase their readiness and prowess to protect the Kenyan borders before a combined choir of students from various girls' schools in the Coast entertained the function attendees.
Mashujaa Day Celebrations were also held in various counties across the country among them Kisii, Nyamira, Kisumu and Migori.
