On October 20, 2019, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko penned a touching post about Miriam Kighenda and her daughter Amanda Mutheu, who tragically lost their lives in the Likoni ferry accident.
According to Governor Sonko, the incident was a sobering reminder of the risks and uncertainties of life, saying, 'Indeed, it has been a long journey both at heart and on our busy roads.'
He expressed gratitude that the SRT team arrived safely in Makueni County, accompanied by family members of the accident victims.
As the community laid Miriam and Amanda to rest, Governor Sonko offered his prayers to the rest of the family, including Alvin, the young son, and his father Mr. John Wambua.
He concluded his message with a heartfelt expression of condolence, saying, 'May God Rest Their Souls In Eternal Peace, Amin.'
