On Saturday, October 19, 2019, Manchester City bounced back from their loss to Wolves before the international break with a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

The Citizens made several changes to their starting lineup, with Pep Guardiola introducing four new players, including Bernardo Silva, Gabriel Jesus, Benjamin Mendy, and Kevin de Bruyne.

Jesus came close to scoring the opening goal after 13 minutes, but his header from De Bruyne's assist went off target.

However, City netted the opener with six minutes left in the first half, thanks to Bernardo Silva's superb cross finding Jesus, who buried the ball beyond Palace's Wayne Hennessey.

Two minutes later, Sterling assisted City's second goal by picking out David Silva in the box, and the experienced player took his chance nicely to extend the Citizens' lead going into the break.

After the restart, City came out all guns blazing to score more goals, but Palace's shot-stopper, Hennessey, was spot on to make saves on different occasions.

With 15 minutes left on the clock, Roy Hodgson brought on Christian Benteke for the final attempt to stage a comeback, but the Belgian's header was saved by Ederson.

De Bruyne came close to adding the third goal with a header inside the box from Gundogan's assist, but his effort only kissed the upright, with City still leading 2-0.

The win sees City jump back to second place, five points behind Liverpool, who face Manchester United on Sunday, October 20, 2019.
