Football Kenya Federation (FKF) is facing intense scrutiny over the non-delivery of an Outside Broadcasting van, despite paying Sh125 million as a downpayment.

The van, which was supposed to be delivered by an England-based company, WTS Broadcast, has attracted the attention of world football governing body, Fifa.

According to sources, the van was previously owned by pay TV broadcaster, Supersport, and was registered in June 2013. The van is a fully depreciated asset with zero book value, making it unclear why FKF would pay Sh135 million for it.

FKF President Nick Mwendwa has been accused of covering up the deal, with three presidential aspirants, led by former Vihiga County Governor Moses Akaranga, calling for him to come clean.

"There is more than meets the eye. We read a lot of cover up on the Sh135million Outside Broadcast when you put into context upcoming FKF elections with a flawed FKF electoral Code and a conflicted Elections board," Akaranga said.

FKF has been summoned to an urgent meeting by Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed, and Fifa has asked for a full report on the non-delivery of the van.
