On Saturday, Bayern Munich's hopes of claiming the top spot in the Bundesliga were dashed by Augsburg's Alfred Finnbogason, who scored a stoppage-time goal to secure a 2-2 draw.

Bayern Munich had taken the lead in the 14th minute through Robert Lewandowski, who headed in a perfect cross from Serge Gnabry for his 12th league goal of the season.

Lewandowski has now scored in each of Bayern's eight league games, equaling the record set by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang four years ago.

However, Augsburg fought back, with Marco Richter volleying in from a Rani Khedira header after just 28 seconds, and Gnabry curling a superb left-footed low shot past Augsburg keeper Tomas Koubek in the 49th minute to give Bayern the lead.

Despite repeated attempts by Kingsley Coman and Lewandowski to break through, Augsburg's keeper Koubek held firm until Finnbogason snatched the late equalizer.

Bayern remain in third place on 15 points, with leaders Borussia Moenchengladbach, on 16 points, playing Borussia Dortmund later on Saturday.
