DP Ruto Issues 4500 Title Deeds to Elgeyo Marakwet Residents ¶
Deputy President William Ruto has issued 4500 title deeds to residents of Elgeyo Marakwet, a move aimed at resolving land disputes in the region.
On October 19, 2019, Ruto visited the region to officially open the Chepsirei Vocational Training Centre and issued the title deeds to the residents of Keyo South in Elgeyo Marakwet County.
According to Ruto, the move is part of the Jubilee government's agenda to resolve land disputes and ensure that residents without homes have a place to live.
"We are investing in vocational training to promote the talents of our youth, ensuring they acquire skills that will benefit them in various industries," Ruto said.
He added that the move will help build the country and ensure that the four main agenda of the government are achieved by 2030.
Ruto also challenged the youth without jobs to start businesses that will help them sustain themselves while the government continues with its plan to resolve the land disputes.
Earlier, Ruto had announced that the government would provide loans to the youth to help them start businesses.
