On a recent tour of southern Africa, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, spoke candidly about the challenges she has faced as a new mother under the intense media spotlight.
Published on October 19, 2019, by AFP, Meghan revealed that the experience has been a 'struggle', citing her vulnerability as a pregnant woman and the added pressure of being a new mother.
'Not many people have asked if I'm OK,' Meghan said in an interview with ITV, highlighting the lack of support and understanding she has received from the public.
She added, 'And especially as a woman, it's a lot,' emphasizing the emotional toll of being in the public eye while navigating motherhood.
Her comments come after the couple launched legal action against the Mail on Sunday for invasion of privacy, with Prince Harry recalling the hounding of his mother, Princess Diana, and the lasting impact it has had on him.
Prince Harry told ITV that the memories of his mother's death are a 'wound that festers,' and that every time he sees a camera or hears a click, he is reminded of the pain and trauma he experienced.
