October 19, 2019 - In a move that has sparked debate on social media, a Kakamega police officer has been summoned by her superiors to explain why she chose to air her grievances on social media instead of reporting them through official channels.
According to reports, Jane Asimizi, a police officer from Kakamega, had taken to social media to express her frustrations over being discriminated against by her superiors at work.
Asimizi's video, which has gone viral, shows her expressing her disappointment and frustration over being treated unfairly by her superiors, who she claims have been assigning her tasks without providing her with adequate resources or support.
"I'm tired of being discriminated against. Why can't my superiors do the right thing? I'm ready to be fired. Why can't they assign me tasks like other officers? I only rely on my salary and when there are other tasks that I can be given to earn extra income," Asimizi said in the video.
Asimizi's decision to air her grievances on social media has sparked a heated debate on social media, with some people defending her right to express herself while others have criticized her for not following the proper channels.
However, in a surprising move, Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai has come out to defend Asimizi, saying that she has the right to express herself and that her grievances should be addressed through proper channels.
"Her grievances were meant to be addressed through the proper channels. The police officer has the right to express herself and her grievances should be addressed through the proper channels. We will address the issue without any delay," Mutyambai said.
