On Saturday, October 19, 2019, the 11th edition of the Isaiah Kiplagat Memorial Ndalat Gaa Cross Country took place in Nandi County, Kenya. The event saw Michael Kibet and Daisy Jepkemei emerge as champions in their respective 10km races.

Michael Kibet clocked 30:23.4 to secure the top spot, with Emmanuel Kipchirchir finishing second in 30:25.3 and Robert Kiprop taking third place in 30:36.8.

"I'm happy to have won the race and I'm looking forward to the next season which looks exciting. I have forgotten what happened after missing a chance to represent Kenya in the World Championships," said Kibet.

Despite being axed from Team Kenya for failing to meet anti-doping procedures, Kibet is now focused on making it to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

In the women's category, Daisy Jepkemei came out on top in 34:12.3, with Beatrice Chebet finishing second in 34:49.5 and Jackline Chepwogen taking third place in 35:01.6.

Beatrice Chebet attributed her success to her coach, saying, "I am happy that I have managed to be in the second position. This has really motivated me to keep on training and listening to my coach ahead of my next races," she said.

Edna Jebitok won the women's 6km race in 20:24:5, while Gideon Rono took the top spot in the 8km boys' race in 24:22:3.

The event, sponsored by Safaricom, Kass Media, Nandi County Government, Kenya Pipeline, and Mosop Constituency CDF, offered a prize fund of Sh1.5 million.
