On October 18, 2019, MM Shah Academy Mombasa shared a touching tribute to their departed student Amanda Mutheu, a four-year-old who lost her life in a tragic accident at the Likoni Ferry channel in the Indian Ocean.

Amanda was a student at the Mombasa learning institution who died alongside her mother Mariam Kighenda after their vehicle drowned in the ocean.

The school shared a compilation of Amanda’s photos in a video form, showing her best moments at the institution accompanied by a tearjerking message which read:

Sadly enough, the most painful #goodbyes are the ones that are left unsaid and never explained. As we lay our dear Amanda? to rest today.. we take a look at the #WarmMoments we shared with her. That radiant smile will forever be in our hearts. REST IN PEACE AMANDA?

The tribute has moved many to tears, with comments from the online community expressing condolences to the family and friends of Amanda and her mother.
