AKA and YoungstaCPT's 'Main Ous' Collaboration Finally Released ¶
Months after speculations of a collaboration between South Africa's biggest rappers AKA and Youngsta CPT, the two have finally released their single 'Main Ous', a feel-good song about everyday life's hustles.
As reported earlier in March, AKA had tweeted a photo of him and Youngsta CPT in a studio session, exciting many of their fans. The song's release has finally come to fruition, and it's worth the wait.
On 'Main Ous', AKA starts off after the hook of the song, which goes as follows: 'Main Ou's, main no, money, bag / Copy that, west cop, west coast, / New clothes, same girls.'
Youngsta CPT joins in with his verse, clearly outlining his pride in what he does, telling off haters who said he 'envy you actors are charlie chaplins.'
The song's video was filmed in both Joburg and Cape Town, with AKA's verse shot in Bryanston and Youngsta CPT's verse shot in Wynberg at the headquarters of his company Y?Gen.
The community is involved in the video, with a group of young people joining the duo in the Town scenes of the visuals, which are the work of Studio Space Pictures.
For an audience that was anticipating these collabo, the duo outdid themselves and delivered. Meanwhile, we hope to have more of these collaborations in the near future.
