NRG Radio's surprise rebranding as 'Kipchoge Radio' has ignited a fierce debate on social media, with Eliud Kipchoge's lawyer, Donald B. Kipkorir, at the forefront of the controversy.

On October 18, 2019, Kipchoge, through his lawyer, demanded that the radio station remove his name, images, and references from all its social media and online platforms within two hours.

The move came after the station rebranded itself without Kipchoge's knowledge or consent, capitalizing on the hype surrounding his historic 42km marathon run in under two hours.

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen weighed in on the decision, urging Kipchoge to reconsider the lawsuit, citing concerns that it would tarnish his reputation.

However, Kipkorir fired back at Murkomen, accusing him of being unprofessional and suggesting that he was not the right lawyer for Kipchoge's case.

The exchange between Kipkorir and Murkomen drew a large audience, with some users taking Kipchoge's side and others defending the radio station's right to use his name.

Denis Itumbi, a vocal critic of Kipkorir, also entered the fray, calling Kipkorir a 'slay-queen' and urging NRG Radio to ignore her threats and instead call Kipchoge to resolve the issue.

Kipkorir responded with a scathing message, accusing Itumbi of having 'blood on his hands' and predicting that he would end up in prison or worse.
