On a segment of Upclose with Betty, Mama Prezdent Kingston, a talented comedian, opened up about her harrowing life journey, marked by multiple instances of sexual abuse.
She revealed that her grandmother raised her, and it was her grandmother who first introduced her to her uncle, who would later become her abuser.
At the age of five, Mama Prezdent Kingston was raped by her uncle, who threatened to kill her if she reported the incident. This was not an isolated event, as she continued to be abused by her uncle throughout her childhood.
When she was 12 years old, her aunt's husband also raped her, stuffing socks in her mouth to silence her. He warned her that no one would believe her if she reported the incident.
Her mother, a single parent living abroad, was her online manager. It was only two years ago that Mama Prezdent Kingston opened up to her family about her traumatic experiences.
She shared that she had been suffering in silence for a long time, plagued by nightmares and a deep-seated hatred for men. However, after being raped by a pastor at the age of 18, she began to heal and find her voice.
She recounted how the pastor, who had initially praised her talents, later raped her during a private 'counseling' session. He gave her Sh200 and warned her not to get pregnant, fearing it would tarnish his reputation.
Despite the trauma she endured, Mama Prezdent Kingston found strength in her experiences. She now uses her platform to help others who have gone through similar ordeals.
