On October 18, 2019, chaos erupted at the high-end Waridi Gardens Estate in Kitisuru, Nairobi, over a dispute for ownership of the multi-billion-shilling property.

Former Tetu Member of Parliament Ndung'u Gethenji was arrested by Flying Squad detectives at his home in Nairobi on Friday, following the incident.

The dispute pits Ndung'u against his elder brother Gitahi Gethenji, who claims that Ndung'u's men destroyed property at the clubhouse and gained access to the security management system.

According to Flying Squad boss Musa Yego, Ndung'u's men arrived at the estate in one of his cars and began destroying property, sparking the chaos.

Ndung'u is the controlling shareholder of Kihingo Village (Waridi Gardens) Limited and Kihingo Village (Waridi) Management One Limited, which owns the estate.

The estate, estimated to be worth Sh20 billion, is home to 55 housing units, each valued at Sh400 million.
