On 9th October, a dramatic scene unfolded at the Spiritual and Revival Church in Imara Daima, Nairobi, when a cobbler named Amos Otieno stormed into the church, threatening to beat Pastor Josphat Kioko.
According to police, Otieno's outburst was sparked by allegations that Pastor Kioko had an affair with his wife.
Police stated that Otieno, armed with a spade, attempted to hit Pastor Kioko on the buttocks, but was restrained by authorities.
Despite being arrested and taken to the police station, Otieno denied the allegations in court and was released on a 3000 bail pending a hearing on 10th February 2020.
