On October 18, 2019, Eliud Kipchoge, the world marathon record holder, took a bold step to protect his image rights. He sent a demand letter to NRG Radio Station, ordering them to apologize and remove his name and images from their social media account.
Through his lawyer, Donald Kipkorir, Kipchoge gave the radio station an ultimatum: respond within 2 hours or face him in court over breach of image rights.
The demand letter was posted on Kipchoge's Twitter handle, where the caption read: 'NRG Radio Station, you have 2 hours to respond to our demand letter or face us in court over breach of image rights.'
Below is the caption of the demand letter.
