Kenya's politics is heating up ahead of the Kibra by-election, with key players throwing their weight behind their preferred candidates.

Seneta Gideon Moi, who is also the chairman of KANU, has announced that he will be supporting ODM's Imran in the upcoming election.

Imran is the brother of the late Ken Okoth, who was the MP for Kibra before his death in July 2019 due to stomach cancer.

"It is crucial to turn out in large numbers to campaign for the ODM candidate in Kibra for the sake of peace between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga," Gideon Moi said.

Imran's candidacy has been endorsed by the Kieleweke faction, which supports President Uhuru Kenyatta.

However, the DPP has threatened to take action against three ODM leaders, including Maina Kamanda, for allegedly inciting violence.
