NRG Radio has swiftly complied with demands made by Eliud Kipchoge's lawyer, Donald B. Kipkorir, after the station was served with a cease and desist letter on October 18, 2019.

The radio station had rebranded itself as 'Kipchoge Radio' without the athlete's knowledge or consent, riding on the hype of Kipchoge's historic 42km marathon run in under two hours.

However, after receiving the letter, NRG Radio removed all mentions of Kipchoge's name and rebranded itself as 'Mashuja Radio'.

Kenyan social media users had varying reactions to the radio station's stunt, with some calling for the station to apologize and others praising Kipchoge's lawyer for taking swift action.

As one Twitter user noted, 'That letter sent to NRG Radio by Kipchoge's lawyers is the best thing I've seen this week...tabia ya kudandia sweat ya watu itaisha...infact I unfollowed them.'
