Published on October 18, 2019, Manchester United are struggling to find their footing in the Premier League, with the team just two points above the relegation zone.

Despite the challenges, executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has expressed confidence in manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, stating that he has instilled discipline back into the team.

"Ole has also instilled the discipline back into an environment where we may have lacked it in recent years," said Woodward.

Woodward also addressed criticism of the club's recruitment policy, stating that there is a "myth" that non-football people are making football decisions.

"There is a myth that we have non-football people making football decisions, and I think it's insulting to the brilliant people who work on the football side in this club," said Woodward.

He added that the club's recruitment department has been expanded in recent years and is now running efficiently and productively.

Manchester United face bitter rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday, a match that could be a turning point for the struggling team.
