On October 18, 2019, Canadian-based lawyer Miguna Miguna made a series of allegations against former Prime Minister Raila Odinga in a tweet.
According to Miguna, after the unnatural death of Fidel Odinga, Raila ordered to be left alone with his son before asking for a traditional medicine man from Gem in Siaya County.
Miguna alleges that after the arrival of the traditional medicine man, Raila gave orders to have his son's left thumb chopped off for unnamed reasons.
These allegations come as a surprise, given Miguna's past association with Raila Odinga. Miguna was a one-time adviser to Odinga but fell out with him after he was deported from the country under unclear circumstances.
It remains unclear what motivated Miguna's outburst, but one thing is certain - the allegations have sparked a heated debate about Raila Odinga's actions.
