On Christmas night, 2018, a domestic dispute turned deadly in Nyaronge village, Masaba North Sub-County, when a woman allegedly set her husband on fire in their home.
According to the charge sheet, Jackie Kerubo, a 36-year-old mother of four, was accused of burning her husband to death due to his decision to marry another woman, who was favored by her mother-in-law.
Kerubo denied the allegations, stating that she only learned about her husband's demise after detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) visited her to record a statement.
The case is set to continue on November 12, 2019, at the Nyamira High Court, where Justice Esther Maina is presiding.
