On October 18, 2019, Kenya's Attorney General had appealed the International Court of Justice's (ICJ) decision to push the public hearings of the maritime boundary case with Somalia from September 9-13 to November 4-8.
Kenya had requested a delay of up to a year, citing the need to reconstitute a legal team, but the ICJ had initially granted a shorter period.
However, the ICJ has now approved Kenya's request to delay the public hearing until June 8, 2020, warning that there will be no further delays.
