Published on October 18, 2019, the county assembly of Nandi is set to deliberate on the suitability of three nominees forwarded by Governor Stephen Sang for key positions in his executive committee.

The nominees, Drice Rono, Grace Sugut, and Francis Sang, are expected to fill positions previously held by suspended and sacked officials following graft probes in their respective departments.

According to Governor Sang's wishes, Drice Rono will replace Hillary Koech as roads and infrastructure minister, while Grace Sugut will take over as minister for education from Valentine Chumo. Francis Sang is set to be confirmed as county secretary after acting in the role for four years.

Additionally, Philemon Bureti, a retired military chaplain, has been nominated as the new minister for lands and environment, replacing Stanley Baliach who was sent home after two probe committees found him guilty.

Drice Rono, an accomplished engineer, has a track record of successfully connecting and realigning road networks in Samburu county. Philemon Bureti, the nominee for lands and environment, has a strong background in administration and planning, having previously served as director of administration and planning in the department of health.
