Nairobi's Hospitality Industry Set for Boom Ahead of Safari Sevens

As the city prepares to host the 23rd Edition of Safari Sevens on Mashujaa Day weekend, 18th – 20th October, Nairobi's hospitality industry is set for a boom. Several hotels in the city are already fully booked, with PrideInn hotel being one of the main hosts of the rugby enthusiasts and players.

According to Mr. Hasnain Noorani, PrideInn Hotels Managing Director, the hotel has been receiving local, regional, and international teams throughout the week, with rooms booked at 90% occupancy and expected to reach 95% before the weekend.

"We want to assure all players and fans that PrideInn will deliver world-class service and accommodate them comfortably," said Mr. Noorani.

The hotel has been hosting international teams for close to a week, including the Russia Academy, Zambian team, Spanish team, Uganda team, and the Kenyan team, who are set to play over the weekend.

Ms. Zahir, PrideInn Group Sales and Marketing Director, noted that sports tourism is one of the fastest-growing sectors in tourism globally and in Kenya, with an increasing number of tourists interested in sporting activities.

According to the World Tourism Organization (WTO), the Middle East and Africa is the world's fastest-growing sports tourism destination, with sports tourism worth an estimated USD 600bn globally and expected to continue growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.6% during the forecast period of 2019 to 2028.
