President Uhuru Kenyatta's decision to host Mashujaa Day celebrations in different counties has brought a new experience to Mombasa residents. For the first time, the coastal city will host the national holiday, moving away from the traditional Nairobi-based events.

The celebrations will take place at the newly renovated Mama Ngina Waterfront, which has undergone a Sh400 million transformation into a modern waterfront park. The park features an amphitheatre, kiosks for traders, and a cultural centre.

Construction firm Suhufi Agencies was responsible for the upgrade, and their work has been praised for its quality. The renovation has been completed just in time for the celebrations, with the first photos of the park now available.
