Published on October 18, 2019, my journey to Turkey was a quest to satisfy my wanderlust and explore the country's renowned healing properties.

Located in the heart of Turkey, Balikesir is a treasure trove of natural wonders, boasting 291 kilometres of coastline, golden sand, and crystal-clear waters.

One of the most striking features of Balikesir is Mount Ida, a mountain that stands tall and proud, providing a source of fresh, uncontaminated air that is second only to the world's highest oxygen density.

As a result, people from all over the world flock to this region to experience the healing properties of the mountain's air, which is rich in oxygen and perfect for those suffering from breathing problems.

During my stay in Balikesir, I had the opportunity to experience the perfect blend of nature, serenity, and tranquility, thanks to the numerous health services and idyllic holidays offered by the tourist facilities.

One of the highlights of my trip was visiting the Manyas National Park, a bird's paradise that is home to 239 species of birds.

However, it was not until I delved deeper into the region's history and culture that I discovered the true healing power of Turkey's hot springs, which have been used for centuries to treat various ailments.

Thermal waters from the hot springs of Balikesir are used to treat a range of conditions, thanks to their high mineral content, rich in Sulphur, radon, and salts.

From outdoor and indoor swimming pools to luxury spas and massages, the health facilities in Balikesir offer a range of treatments that cater to every need and provide a truly rejuvenating experience.

But what truly sets Turkey apart is its robust conventional healthcare industry, which is ranked third in medical tourism by the International Medical Travel Journal.

According to the Turkey Ambassador Ahmet Cemil Miroglu, Turkey's hospitals currently host 850,000 patients from 165 countries, who come to the country for a range of treatments, from ophthalmic surgery to fertility treatment.

And it's not just the healthcare industry that makes Turkey a popular destination – the country's rich history, cultural heritage, and natural beauty make it a leading tourism destination, with something to offer for every kind of traveller.
