Published on October 18, 2019, vote tallying in the Ganda Ward, Kilifi County, continues with ODM's Rueben Katana in a strong position to reclaim the seat.

Mr Katana is currently leading Jubilee Party's Joseph Kiponda, Kadu Asili Party's David Mitsanze, and independent candidate Abdul Omar.

The seat fell vacant following the High Court's nullification of the August 7, 2017 election of Abdulrahman Mohamed Omar due to irregularities and illegalities.

Returning Officer Jumaa Musa earlier directed police to eject Kilifi Deputy Governor Gideon Saburi and journalists from TV47 for lacking accreditation.

Security has been beefed up at Takaye Primary School, where the tallying is being conducted, with the ward featuring 12 polling centers, 30 polling stations, and 16,632 voters.
