On October 18, 2019, Senegal announced their U-17 squad for the World Cup in Brazil, amidst allegations of age cheating. The team's coach, Malick Daf, refuted these claims, stating that the team's age eligibility was in order.

Senegal made three changes to their squad from the one that represented the country at the U-17 Nations Cup in April in Tanzania. Midfielder El Hadji Gueye and forwards Meleye Diagne and Ousmane Diallo were dropped from the squad, and replaced by new players.
