As the 2022 general election draws near, ODM leader Raila Odinga has been revamping his party and building a new team of allies in his strongholds of Nyanza and Western.

Published on October 18, 2019, Raila has retained a few old allies, including Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyong'o, his sister Ruth Odinga, and Seme MP Dr. James Nyikal, who chairs the Luo parliamentary group.

However, new faces are emerging in Raila's inner circle, including Nyando MP Jared Okello, who has international networks and serves as the ODM's secretary of public policy and Economic Affairs.

Junet Mohamed, the Suna East MP from South Nyanza, is also a close ally of Raila's and has been described as a 'trusted emissary and great negotiator' by an insider.

While Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya remains Raila's main man in Western, new faces are emerging, including Party SG Edwin Sifuna and Busia Woman Rep Florence Mutua.
