On October 17, 2019, a new round of state appointments and reappointments was made in Kenya, leaving many in shock.
Among those reappointed was Robert Kochalle, a former MP for Laisamis Constituency, who was named as a board member of the Kenya Film Classification Board.
However, what raised eyebrows was that Kochalle had passed away in May 2018, more than a year before the reappointment.
A death announcement published in 2018 revealed that Kochalle had died at the Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi after a long illness, which included a mild stroke and a successful heart operation.
The question on everyone's mind is: how could Kochalle's name appear in the list of nominees for state jobs in Kenya, and who was set to draw his salary?
Below are the death announcement and reappointment notice, which raise more questions than answers.
