Nigerian Sportsman's Rags-to-Riches Story: From Abandoned Streets to NFL Stardom

On October 17, 2019, Efe Obada, a Nigerian sportsman, made headlines after signing a US$575,000 deal with the Carolina Panthers, earning him a whopping KSh 59,640,000.

Obada's journey to success was far from easy. At the tender age of 10, he was trafficked from the Netherlands to the UK and abandoned on London streets. He was later placed in foster care, moving from one home to another.

It wasn't until his early 20s that Obada discovered his passion for American football. His friend introduced him to the sport, and he was invited to practice with the London Warriors. Impressed by his agility, speed, and physique, the team's coach recommended him to the Dallas Cowboys, where he was signed in 2015.

Obada's hard work and determination eventually paid off. He played for the Kansas City Chiefs and Atlanta Falcons before joining the Carolina Panthers in 2017. His first NFL game as a Panther was a turning point in his career, as he played defensive and interception during the first game.

Noticing his impressive performance, the head coach, Ron Rivera, gave him the game ball, and Obada went on to become the NFC defensive player of the week.

Obada's story is a testament to the power of perseverance and determination. From being abandoned on the streets to becoming a top NFL player, his journey is an inspiration to many.
