At just 29 years old, Eugene Mbugua has achieved a remarkable feat, becoming Kenya's youngest millionaire. His journey to success began with humble beginnings, marked by struggles and perseverance.
According to Eugene, he always had an eye for business, even as a campus student in 2009. He worked odd jobs, including teaching at Makini school, where he was paid after three months, forcing him to walk from Roysambu to Makini school due to lack of bus fare.
However, this experience turned out to be a blessing in disguise. As he walked to school, Eugene would see the lavish lifestyles of young people in Eastlands, who owned posh apartments and cars. This realization sparked the idea for his popular show, Young and Rich.
After pitching his idea to Kenyan media houses, Eugene's big break finally came with the show. He has since gone on to produce several other shows and owns a production company with over 40 employees.
Aside from his production company, Eugene also owns a chain of clubs with a group of friends. He credits his friends for providing financial support for his first business venture.
Despite his success, Eugene has not been immune to struggles. He has spoken publicly about his struggles with depression in 2014 and growing up in poverty. However, he has come a long way and was listed in the Forbes list of top 30 under 30 promising entrepreneurs in 2017.
Advising upcoming entrepreneurs, Eugene emphasizes the importance of finding one's path and crafting success out of it. His story serves as a testament to the power of hard work, dedication, and self-confidence.
