The list includes Central Vehicle Services Limited, Karibia Technology Solutions Limited, Simba Speed Governor, and 16 other companies.
Speed governors were made mandatory for public service vehicles under the infamous 'Michuki Rules', introduced by the late Transport Minister John Njoroge Michuki.

The Traffic Act (Cap.403) of 2005 also mandated the use of approved speed governors in public service vehicles.
According to the Act, the Minister for Transport approves the types of speed governors listed in the schedule to be fitted in every public service vehicle and commercial vehicle with a tare weight of 3048 Kgs and above.
