On October 17, 2019, the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) issued an alert over a collapsed culvert crossing on the Likoni-Lunga Lunga road in Kwale County, which has been rendered impassable.
Heavy rains in the Coast Region had caused the damage, and motorists were advised to exercise caution while driving.
Heavy goods vehicles plying the Likoni-Lunga Lunga road were re-routed to the Lunga Lunga-Kwale-Kombani road following the damage of the culvert at Muhogo.
The contractor was already on site remedying the damage, according to KeNHA.
