Nairobi City Stars maintained their lead at the top of the National Super League (NSL) standings with 25 points after a 2-1 win over Nairobi Stima at the Karuturi Grounds in Naivasha on Wednesday, October 16, 2019.
The win opened up an eight-point gap between City Stars and the second-placed teams, Bidco United and Migori Youth, who were joint second with 17 points after nine rounds.
City Stars are bidding to return to the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) after three years in the cold and continued their pursuit for promotion with the win.
They next face Fortune Sacco at home on Monday next week.
Meanwhile, Bidco United topped Kibera Black Stars 1-0 at the Camp Toyoyo Grounds, while Migori Youth also secured a win in their match.
