Naivas, a leading supermarket chain in Kenya, has strengthened its presence in the coastal region with the launch of a new outlet in Mombasa's Central Business District (CBD) on Digo Road.
The new branch, which occupies 22,000 square feet of retail space, is located next to Bima Towers and marks the company's 56th outlet nationwide.
According to Willy Kimani, Naivas Supermarkets' Chief Commercial Officer, the new branch is part of the company's strategy to expand its geographical footprint, particularly in the coastal region.
"This year, we decided to ramp up our coastal presence with a new large outlet on the fairly busy Digo Road to tap into a growing population of walk-in shoppers as well as the motorists who work on that side of the business district," Kimani said in a press dispatch.
Naivas has been rapidly expanding its network, with nearly ten new outlets added in 2019 alone. The company now has six branches at the coast, with a focus on serving the island and the north coast, which have higher populations.
With the launch of the new branch, Naivas expects to add at least another 100 new jobs, taking advantage of the growing demand for retail services in the region.
