On October 17, 2019, President Uhuru Kenyatta sent Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju to rally Jubilee MCAs behind Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Beatrice Elachi, whom the MCAs had been at loggerheads with for months.

According to Tuju, the party agreed to respect the rule of law and court orders made before. This decision means Elachi will resume her duties after a year-long absence, while Abdi Guyo will continue serving as Majority leader.

"If there is to be any action, we are going to follow the constitution of the party and follow the rule of law. Therefore, the status quo remains until such a time when the party will pronounce itself," Tuju said.

The decision was met with mixed reactions from MCAs, with some welcoming the outcome and others left in a dilemma. Ngara MCA Chege Mwaura, who had been the acting speaker, has been left in a difficult position following the decision.
