On October 13, 2019, a devastating collision occurred on the N11 in Ladysmith, near Modelkloof, resulting in the deaths of eight people.
A family of four from Zimbabwe was among the victims, with their car bursting into flames and all four occupants being burnt beyond recognition.
The family, identified as Tonderai Godfrey Sithole (38) – Driver, Faith Sithole (36) – Wife, Shalom Sithole (10)– Female child, and Shekinah Sithole (5) – Female child, were part of the two SUVs involved in the horror collision.
The other family that burned in the flames included Dheeraj Sureshchand Singh (41) – driver, Ronithah Singh – Wife (40), Suman Singh -Male (21), and Sanjana Singh – Female (16).
According to reports, the identification of the victims took long due to the lack of number plates on the Porsche Cayenne, which made it difficult for authorities.
