On October 16, 2019, a crowd of angry Kiambu residents stormed Governor Ferdinand Waititu's hotel in Nairobi, demanding his immediate resignation.
The residents, armed with pig heads and placards, marched to the hotel along University Way in Nairobi town, chanting slogans and calling for Waititu's ouster.
One of the protesters, Hardson Nyaga, stated that Kiambu residents are fed up with Waititu's administration and want him out due to allegations of corruption and looting of public resources.
As a symbol of their discontent, the protesters hurled pig heads at the hotel's kitchen, accusing Waititu of being a greedy boss.
Waititu, who is facing various corruption charges in court, denied the allegations, claiming that someone was out to tarnish his name.
Despite losing property in Thika, Waititu maintained his innocence and vowed to clear his name.
