Published on October 16, 2019, a power outage has been affecting Rapogi Girls Secondary in Migori County for the past three weeks, disrupting normal operations at the school.

The school's board of management Chairperson, Mr. Martin Ondong, attributed the power outage to a faulty transformer serving the school and the surrounding community.

According to Mr. Ondong, the learners are unable to undertake their studies at night since the school does not have a backup generator.

Despite several visits to the Kenya Power offices in the county, no action has been taken to address the issue, leaving the school chairman to appeal to the power distributor to resolve the matter.

Mr. Ondong is urging Kenya Power to address the issue so that normal operations in the school and the surrounding neighbourhood can resume.
