Man Bites 4-Month-Old Son's Genitals in Voi ¶
On October 16, 2019, a disturbing incident came to light in Voi, Taita Taveta County, where a 23-year-old man was arraigned at the Voi Law Courts for allegedly assaulting his 4-month-old son.
The accused, Salim Mwaluma Chongo, was charged with biting the child on the penis, right leg, and rib at his home in Mwingoni village on October 13, 2019.
The child's mother had left the child in the care of the accused, and it remains unclear why he committed the act.
The child is still undergoing treatment for the serious injuries sustained on his genitals.
During the arraignment, the accused denied the charges before Voi Senior Resident Magistrate Fredrick Nyakundi and was released on a cash bail of Ksh.20,000 or Ksh.50,000 bond.
The case will be mentioned on October 30, 2019, with the hearing scheduled for October 31, 2019.
