On October 16, 2019, President Uhuru Kenyatta urged men to find ways to lead women effectively, emphasizing the importance of showing them respect before doing so.
According to the President, human beings are equal, but women are fragile and need to be protected.
"Elders respect women, it's not about offending a woman's dignity. You go ahead and lead her slowly if you can manage," Uhuru said.
Uhuru made these remarks while addressing a situation where some male lawmakers from a certain region stormed the county assembly and caused chaos after the speaker, Beatrice Elachi, returned to her office.
The lawmakers clashed with each other, destroying property before police officers arrived to restore order.
