As the world's top footballers continue to vie for the title of best player, Cristiano Ronaldo has taken the lead in another area: Instagram earnings.
According to a study by Buzz Bingo, Ronaldo earned Sh5 billion from his sponsored Instagram posts last year, more than double the Sh2.5 billion earned by Lionel Messi.
While Messi, the Barcelona talisman, may have sent out more posts than Ronaldo, with 36 compared to Ronaldo's 34, the Portuguese star's earnings per post were significantly higher, at Sh103 million per post.
David Beckham, the former England captain, trailed behind with Sh1.1 billion in earnings, despite sending out 34 posts.
Other footballers to make the list of top earners on Instagram included Neymar Jr, who earned Sh766m, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who raked in Sh423m.
