On October 16, 2019, President Uhuru Kenyatta officially commissioned the Nairobi expressway near Cabanas on Mombasa Road, where he shared his thoughts on seduction.
According to the President, Kenyan men should seduce women with respect, saying 'Wazee waheshimu akina mama, sio kuenda na kukosea mwanamke heshima wewe enda umtongoze pole pole. Ukibahatika sawa, ukikosa tafuta mwingine.'
He emphasized that seducing with respect brings people together without disagreement, adding 'Na hiyo ndio njia ya kumaliza ukabila lakini si kukosea mtu heshima. Tunagombania nini? Kushindana ni sawa lakini kuishi ni pamoja.'
The President's sentiments come at a time when homicides, murders, domestic violence, and other vices have increased in the country, often linked to love gone sour.
