Kenyan gospel singer Bahati's wife, Diana Marua, has spoken candidly about her experiences with co-parenting and managing the complexities of her husband's previous relationship.
According to Diana, she and her husband had an open conversation about his daughter Mueni from a previous relationship before they got married in 2017.
She revealed that she chose to prioritize Mueni's needs and well-being, even if it meant being in constant contact with her husband's ex-girlfriend and Mueni's mother, Yvette Obura.
“Bahati was very open with me when we got into a relationship, he was very open with the fact that he has a daughter somewhere. And me getting myself into the relationship, of course I knew what I was getting into,” Diana said in her YouTube channel, Diana Bahati.
She continued, “I was not into the issue of how baby mama relationships are with the current girlfriend that was not in my mind. I was like you know what we will just deal with it.”
Despite the challenges, Diana expressed her satisfaction with the progress they've made in co-parenting, citing instances where Mueni would come to her for help resolving conflicts with her siblings.
However, her views differ from those of Yvette Obura, who has previously spoken about the difficulties of co-parenting with Bahati and the disagreements they have over raising their daughter.
