Published on October 16, 2019, Tanzanian President John Magufuli has made a surprise request to singer Rajab Abdul Kahali, popularly known as Harmonize.

During a public function in Ruangwa, President Magufuli expressed his wish to see Harmonize represent his people in parliament, terming him as a very hardworking man.

“I highly commend Harmonize, I do not know which region he comes from, but I wish he would contest for the Tandaimba seat. The current representative is unknown to me. I would be glad if Harmonize would go and contest for the seat. He is a hardworking young man. I thank you all and may God bless him,” said President Magufuli.

However, this is not the first time Harmonize has been linked to politics. In August, he dismissed claims that he intends to join politics, stating that his focus is on taking his music to greater heights.

“I do not think of venturing into politics. Instead, I want to take our music to greater heights. My dream is to take our music international. That is where I put all my energy. I will do anything and everything for music and nothing else, not even politics,” he said.
